Avila Beach is a quaint little town on the Central Coast of California. The town is a popular place for a day relaxing on the beach. Ocean water temperatures are warmer here due to its location on San Luis Bay. In the early 1980's a huge oil spill was discovered underneath the town of Avila. Much of the downtown area was dug up with many of the original buildings lost forever.

Since then the new Avila has rebounded to become a favorite central coast destination. There is shopping, ice cream and snow cone stands, and plenty of beach side sports.
