Lower
Wood Canyon was once covered by Oak trees. Mission San
Juan Capistrano was built with the trees from this canyon.
Upper wood Canyon still has a thick covering of trees
and there has been some replanting in recent years. The
trail here is an easy hike or bike ride although there
are some sandy sections. No drinking water is available
in the canyon so bring an adequate supply along.
