Bowers Museum in Santa Ana California
is Orange County's largest museum with six permanent
galleries. The museum has an extensive collection
of Native American art and Southern California historic
artifacts.
The original museum is a Mission Revival, two-story
building which forms one side of the central courtyard.
During the year, the museum hosts special exhibits
and shows. Some of these events can get quite expensive.
Check with the museum to see what is going on the
day you plan to visit to avoid sticker shock. If your
not quite ready for a day at Bowers Museum the Discovery
Science Center is just a coupled of blocks away.
Just down Main street one block is the Bowers Kidsuem.
The children's museum is geared for kids 6 and up.
It has hands on activities like music and crafts which
keep little minds engaged.
Your children will enjoy visiting the Kidsuem much
more than the larger main museum. The kids museum
has a party room which you can rent out for two hours
for birthday party celebrations. Weekend birthday
party times are: 10:30am and 1:30pm
