Descanso Gardens is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year. Each season you will find different flowers and plants blooming. In 1937 Manchester Boddy, publisher of the Los Angeles Daily News purchased 150 acres of undeveloped land which is now the gardens. Descanso is a wonderful nature retreat, quite secluded without an overwhelming number of visitors, and each path leads to a different and interesting area that is fun to explore. Descanso Gardens are a great place to visit with your family or to take a romantic walk with your sweetheart.
