El Capitan State Beach Santa Barbara

El Capitan State Beach offers day use and over night camping. Located about a 30 minute drive north of Santa Barbara along Highway 101. El Capitan offer lots of shady areas covered with oak and sycamore trees throughout the park. Several campsites offer beautiful views from the cliff-top locations.

El Capitan has a sandy beach with tide pools and plus numerous of hiking trails to explore. Camping at El Capitan is very popular and the 140 camp sites can fill up months in advance. Reserve early for best camping sites.
 

Popular activities include swimming, fishing, surfing, picnicking and camping. A stairway provides access from the bluffs to the beach area.

A bike trail connects the park with Refugio State Beach, 2.5 miles away. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Quite hours are from 10 pm to 6 am. Check out time is noon. Each campsite can have up to eight persons. All the campsites have fire pits and tables.

On the other side of Highway 101 is another option for camping, El Capitan Canyon Resort. Glamping (Glamorous Camping) is offered at the resort as well as RV camping.

Imagine going camping with the only chore you have to do is packing your suit case. Well at El Capitan Canyon Resort your dream come true. There are 108 individual cedar cabins located in the canyon.

All cabins have front porches, peak ceilings, are fully equipped with standard bathroom facilities, king, queen or double beds, individual heating controls, fine linens and towels, kitchenettes with microwave, mini-fridge, wet bar sink and coffee maker.

if you demand even more comfort then there is the Safari Cabin Suite. Located on top of a bluff, with views of the ocean and mountains. This two-bedroom cabin suite is equipped with a full kitchen, including gas stove and oven, microwave, full size refrigerator, cookware and dishware, pantry and ample countertop space.

If you prefer to do outdoor cooking, a large gas barbeque grill and prep area are located on the spacious deck. Choose camping at the state park or glamping at El Capitan Canyon Resort.
