Emma Woods State Beach is located in Ventura County next to highway 101. Camping here is defiantly beach front with some site practically in the water. There are a total of 90 campsites all of which are for fully self-contained vehicles only. No tent camping is permitted and there are no facilities so you must be self contained in every aspect. The beach here is mad up of rock and gravel and not too wide around the camping area however there are some sandy sections. The Ventura River empty's out into the ocean at the southeast end of the park and attracts animals and birds. This section of Ventura beach is very popular with wind surfers and kite surfing due to the perfect conditions. Campsite can be reserved up to seven months in advance Reserve America.

Emma Beach has the remains of a World War II coastal artillery site along with a few trails to explore around the Ventura river. During the off season, camping is on a first come first serve basis. Reservations are a must for the rest of the year. Cost is $20 per night and extra vehicles are $8. From October 1st through March 31st, the park is open Friday through Saturday only. High tides may close the campground at any time. Railroad tracks run along the length of Emma Woods beach and chances are you will see a passing Amtrak Pacific Surfliner pass by.

Emma Wood State Beach is located west of Ventura. The campsites are two miles west on Highway 101 (State Beaches off ramp).
