One of the
most noticeable features of Gaviota Beach is the historic
Southern Pacific train trestle. This 100 year structure
has withstood earthquakes, high wind and high tides. Still
in use by Amtrak and freight trains, rumor has it that
the train trestle is haunted but so far no beach campers
have been lost. Gaviota Beach beach is perfect for a day
