Chica Wetlands - If you love nature, hiking,
and water, then this place is for you. Miles of easy
trails to explore all with an Ocean view. See remains
of coastal gun emplacements. Free parking along Pacific
Coast Highway. |
Peter
Strauss Ranch - There are several hiking
trails to explore plus the original ranch house is still
on the property. This section of Mulholland Highway
is called "The Three Magical Miles" |
Point
Dume Nature Preserve - Wonderful view
of the coast all the way to Santa Monica. The summit
trail branches off and leads you down a steep set
of stairs to a secluded beach.

Square Park - Great place for a family
bike ride or picnic. Bike rentals available weekends
and summer. Runners enjoy the four mile trek around
the park. Tennis, golf and basketball. |
Irvine
Regional Park
- Family friendly park for both hiking and biking.
Rentals are available. Train ride, boats and lots of
shady trees. Extensive trail system paved and dirt paths

Griffith
Park - This park has it all. Hiking paths,
mountain bike trails and horse back riding routes. Views
of downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills all

Trails Regional Park - Located just a few
miles from downtown San Diego. Mission Hills has nearly
6,000 acres of hills, valleys and open areas. Hiking
and mountain biking. |
Aliso
& Wood Canyon perfect for family hike.
Trails range from easy canyon to strenuous hill climbing.
Ocean views from top of the world trail. Mountain bike
and hiking trails. |
Cabrillo
National Monument hike down to the beach
and explore tide pools with a view of San Diego Bay.
Visit Whaler's Overlook and watch for passing pods of
dolphins. |
Anza-Borrego
Desert State Park - Biking is a great way
to explore the park, with miles of highway to travel
and many trails to explore. Campgrounds and lodging
available.

Back Bay great for for running, hiking
or biking. Paved trail along the west side of the bay
is also open to vehicles. Kayak rentals and guided back
bay tours on weekends. |
Whitewater
Preserve
is near Palm Springs and a wonderful
destination for a picnic or nature walk. Miles of hiking
trails branch out from the Preserve visitor center.

east side. Hiking, back packing, winter sports amd summer

Regional Park both a day use picnic destination
and overnight camping getaway. O"neill park is
so Close to the city but seems far away. 78 campsites
miles of trails. |
Laguna
Niguel Regional Park offering a wide variety
of recreational uses including fishing, boating, hiking,
picnicking, as well as biking. Tennis courts and large
kids play area.
