Hollywood California is visited by tourists from all over the world. For many out of state travelers Hollywood is always one of the first places they visit on their vacation to Southern California.

Most of the tourist activity revolves around
Grauman's Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard. Grauman's is where Starline buses pick up and drop off for the various tours. Nearly all Hollywood attractions are located within walking distance of the theater. Madame Tussauds is one block away, Hollywood and Highland Mall and the Kodak Theatre are located next to Grauman's.

Downtown Hollywood is under going a makeover with with new buildings popping up and old buildings being renovated. Sidewalk vendors still hawk maps to the movie stars homes and look-alike celebrities try to get you to take a picture with them but Hollywood is much improved.

Grauman's Chinese Theater courtyard is where you can see foot and hand prints of movie stars and out on Hollywood the walk of stars leads off in both directions. Hollywood boulevard is a great place to take a photo next to the star of your favorite Hollywood movie personality. Expect crowds along the Boulevard this place is popular but not to be missed

Most visitors to Hollywood start out at Grauman's Chinese Theater on Hollywood boulevard. Parking in any of the lots will cost you at least ten dollars. Free parking in the surrounding streets is available if you don't mind walking a few blocks.

Star line Tours will validate parking in the Hollywood and Highland garage. Validation price is $2 for four hours parking in the garage underneath the Hollywood and Highland Center.

Nearby attractions within driving distance are Griffith Observatory and Los Angeles Farmers Market on
Third and Fairfax streets. You can also visit Hollywood using the Metro Red Line. There is a Metro station at Hollywood and Vine Station which drops you off in the center of everything.

Hollywood is not just for people on vacation its a perfect destination for a Southern California day trip. Plan on spending at least a half day visiting Hollywood. If you decide to see more than one attraction CityPass is a good way to save plus you get a map and other discounts.
