Irvine Regional Park Orange County

Irvine Regional Park has a rich history, and contains some of the oldest Coast Live Oaks in Orange County. In 1876, the land that is now Irvine Park became the sole property of James Irvine who had bought out his partners. Seven years after his father's death, James, Irvine Jr. donated the land and it became the first park in Orange County.

Today the park is a favorite destination for families from all over Southern California. Picnic areas are located throughout the 477 acre park with parking and restroom facilities steps away. A paved trail meanders through the central park providing easy access to playgrounds, softball fields, horse shoe pits, volleyball courts and two lakes.

Irvine Pak is also home to the Orange County Zoo with a collection of animals and plants native to the southwestern United States. Things to do at irvine Regional Park include the Irvine Park Railroad, children's pony rides, paddleboat rentals, hiking and bike rentals.

Bring along a picnic lunch and find a shady spot under one of the oak trees for a relaxing day at the park. Irvine Regional Park is very family oriented and kids will have a blast exploring all the park has to offer.

One of the most fun things to do at irvine park is take a ride the Irvine Park Railroad. This fun miniature railroad take you on a journey through Irvine Park. The train travels past two lakes and under some of the oldest Oak trees in the park before returning to the train station through a small tunnel.

Visitors can rent a paddle boat and ride around the lake or rent a bike or 4-wheel surrey and follow the numerious trails that run through the park., Another popular activity is having a family picnic under one of the huge oak trees. Kids can take ride pony rides or guided horseback tours are available by appointment only.

Orange County Zoo features Southern California animals the OC Zoo is an inexpensive activity while visiting Irvine Park. The main attraction here is the black bear exhibit and the children's petting zoo.

Irvine Regional Park is a great place for a family reunion, a picnic, or just a day at the park.

Irvine Regional Park is is located at 1 Irvine Park Rd Orange, CA 92862 USA From south Orange County: Take Interstate 5 north to the Jamboree exit. Turn right (east) onto Jamboree and proceed straight until Jamboree dead-ends into Irvine Regional Park (about 5-6 miles).

Irvine Regional Park entrance fee is very reasonable and so are the train and paddle boat rentals. You can have a fun day and spend only a few dollars at Irvine Regional Park.
