Jalama
Beach if off the beaten
path but not necessarily quite and secluded. Summer
time campers line up early to get one
of the 110 beach front campsites. Even if your not lucky
enough to snag a campsite Jalama Beach is a great day
trip destination. The beach is located about 30 miles
north of Santa Barbara just south of Vandenberg Air
Force
Base.
If you happen
to be camping when a satellite is being launched from
the base you will be treated to a spectacular view
as the
rockets heads off into space. During the summer Lompoc
RV drops off rental trailers at Jalama Beach. Weekends
and summer there is a waiting list to get a campsite.
The Jalama
Beach store and restaurant is home to the world
famous Jalama burger. The store has all the usual things
you forget to bring plus souvenirs and garments to remind
you of your trip to Jalama. If your camping or just out
for the day you will find no better place to enjoy the
California coast. The views are breathtaking, no buildings
or high rise hotels just miles of pristine coastline.
Jalama Beach is one of the most unique places to camp
along
the central California coast however camp sites are first
come first serve, no reservations. Only group areas may
be reserved in advance. Jalama Beach Park Park
