USS Midway Museum
Midway was the longest-serving carrier in the history of the U.S. Navy. Located downtown in San Diego at Navy Pier, Midway. More than 40 exhibits.
Fort MacArthur Museum

J. Paul Getty Museum
Houses European paintings, drawings, sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, decorative arts, and European and American photographs.
The Bowers Museum
Orange County's largest museum with six permanent galleries and a kids museum. located at the corner of 20th & Main Streets in Santa Ana
San Diego Aerospace Museum
History of aerospace from the Wright brothers to today's space age technology. Located in Balboa Park. Open 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Maritime Museum of San Diego
One of the world’s finest collections of historic ships. fascinating exhibits on maritime history, exploration and warfare. The museum is located on the San Diego bay near the USS Midway.
San Bernardino Museum Regional museum with exhibits and collections in cultural and natural history. Open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Plan on spending at least a half day exploring this great museum.
Los Angeles Museum of Art
12 permanent collections ranging from American art to European Painting and Sculpture. 5905 Wilshire Boulevard. 323-857-6000 (general information)
March Field Air Museum
Over 60 historic aircraft are on display both in and outside.$7 for adults, $3 for children (5-11), and kids under 5 are free. Open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Orange County Museum of Art
The premier contemporary art museum in Orange County. The collection focuses on late 20th-century and California art.
Laguna Art Museum
Mix of historical and contemporary exhibitions located about 300 feet from the ocean. The Museum is open daily, including Monday holidays.
Los Angles Natural History Museum
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is a crown jewel of Los Angeles' museums. The largest natural history museum on the West coast.
Norton Simon Museum
Displays one of the worlds finest collections of art works. Admission is free for all visitors the first Friday of every month from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m
Palm Springs Air Museum
One of the world's largest collections of flying World War Two warplanes. Original artworks, including enormous murals. Open seven days a week 10 - 5
Los Angeles Maritime Museum
This 75,000 square foot facility features more than 700 ship and boat models. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 4:30 PM San Pedro

California Heritage Museum
The California Heritage Museum, located in the heart of Santa Monica's Main Street, offers exciting exhibits and programs year round.
Petersen Automotive Museum
The Petersen Automotive Museum, located in the heart of Los Angeles famed Miracle Mile district is one of the world's largest automotive museums.
Museum of the American West
Objects and artworks from the American West with more than 78,000 items. The Museum is located in Griffith Park, Los Angeles. Open 10 - 5 pm
California Oil Museum
Located in a restored 1890s Victorian building. This is a first class museum really interesting. Open: 10 AM – 4 PM, Wed – Sun Santa Paula, California. Ride the Fillmore train and you stop for one hour at Santa Paula and visit this great museum.
Antelope Valley Indian Museum
A collection of prehistoric and historic American Indian artifacts. The Antelope Valley Indian The Antelope Valley Indian Museum is closed until Spring 2009. California State Parks property on Piute Butte (on which the museum is located) is closed to public access until the museum reopens.
 
Ventura County Museum
Changing exhibits, art and history, farm implement display plus museum store. Open 10- 5 Tuesday thru Sunday
