Crystal Cove State Beach - The Park has 3.5 miles of beach and 2,000 acres of woodland. Crystal Cove is home to the historic Crystal Cove Cottages which are rented out first come first serve.
K1 Racing Indoor Go Karts - Looking for some excitement close to home then give these zero emission electric karts a try. With four Southern California locations your never too far from a race.
Little Saigon - Located in Westminster this three square mile area has hundreds of restaurants and shops to explore. This is largest area of Vietnamese stores outside of Vietnam and a very interesting day trip.
Aliso & Wood Canyon - Hiking, equestrian, and mountain biking this park has it all. Home of the Orange County Natural History Museum. Great for a family hike along the valley floor.
Mile Square Park - Three golf courses, tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball diamonds and picnic areas. Great place to take the kids for a bike ride. Popular with runners doing the four mile loop.
Nixon Library - The nine acre Library & Birthplace is a three-dimensional walk-through memoir featuring a 52,000 square foot museum. Sounds boring but the Nixon Library will really surprise you.
Fullerton Arboretum - The Fullerton Arboretum, a 26-acre botanical garden with an ecologically arranged collection of plants from around the world. Gift shop and plant store. You will be amazed that such a beautiful place can be found in the city.
Nix Nature Center - Gateway for recreational users to explore a vast network of linked trails throughout the Laguna Coast Wilderness park. Parking lot fills up fast on weekends plan on arriving early to get a spot.
Mission San Juan Capistrano - Mission San Juan Capistrano, the Birthplace of Orange County, was founded more than two hundred years ago. The historic mission and surrounding gardens are a must see in OC.
San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary - 300 acre sanctuary has more than ten miles of trails. Freshwater holding ponds and and seasonal meadows/marshes. Nice place for a family hike or bird watching.
Upper Newport Bay - Ecological Reserve of 752 acres. The Bay is an important stopover for migrating birds. The back bay loop is very popular with hikers, runners and bike riders. You can drive your car on the one way road.
Muth Interpretive Center - Built into the bluffs over looking Newport Back Bay. The center offers hands on exhibits and breathing taking views. Great place for a family outing with many hiking trails.
Irvine Regional Park & Zoo - Irvine Park has a rich history, and contains some of the oldest Coast Live Oaks in Orange County. Train and boat rides for the kids. Great family fun in Orange County.
The Great Park of Orange County
When complete the great Park will have 1,749 acres, making it larger than New York's Central Park. Spring 2008 will be first chance to ride the Great Balloon.
Great Park Balloon Ride Irvine - Climb aboard the 30 passenger gondola and take a ride 500 feet in the air. The birds eye view will give visitors a view of the Great Park as it is being built. Call ahead before you go.
Stanley Ranch - Operated by the Garden Grove Historical Society a collection of buildings and a Museum. One of the most interesting buildings is the Walt Disney Studio Garage.
Farmer's Markets - Fun way to spend a half day shopping for fresh produce and other items. You can find one of these markets open just about any day of the week.
O'Neill Regional Park - Situated in beautiful Trabuco and Live Oak Canyons the park offers day hiking and biking and also over night camping.
Laguna Canyon - This 17,000-acre coastal canyon system has miles of hiking trails.The main canyon is home to the Sawdust Festival and Pageant of the Masters.
Dana Point Harbor - Numerous restaurants and stores, the Ocean Institute with it's tall ship replica. Whale watching and fishing trips.
Shipley Nature Center
18-acre fenced natural area within Huntington Beach Central Park.The Nature Center includes 4,000 feet of trails that meander through several habitats

Sherman Library & Gardens - A 2.2 acre Corona del Mar horticultural retreat. The Gardens provide a museum of living plants, displayed amidst a setting of immaculate gardens, seasonal flowers and bubbling tile fountains.
Modjeska Historic House
The Helena Modjeska Historic House and Gardens was the home of the world-renowned Shakespearean actress Helen Modjeska.
Oak Canyon Nature Center
58 acre natural park in Anaheim Hills. A year round creek runs through the preserve.
Romona Adobe
An official museum featuring the history of the Santa Ana Canyon from 1769 to present. The Adobe is open to the public on the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (714)973-3190
Newport Beach Harbor Cruise - 45 and 90 minute narrated harbor cruises of Newport Bay. Adult fares are $14.00 for the 45 minute tour, kids under 12 are $7.00 under 5 are free
