San Bernardino County Museum has been at it's present location in Redlands since 1974. The museum is a wonderful place to visit and has a surprising amount of exhibits and collections. There are three levels of exhibits for visitors to view. The main level has the Hall of History and the Hall of Anthropology. The upper level Bird Hall has a huge collection of mounted birds from inland Southern California, both residents and migrants. Also on the upper level is the Schuiling Gallery with rotating exhibits. On the lower level you will find the North American Mammal Hall featuring mammals and fossils as old as 16 million years.

A full size Southern Pacific locomotive and a Santa Fe caboose and citrus groves to remind you of the that the Inland Empire was once covered with miles of orange trees. There is a small Garden Cafe at the Museum Patio or you can bring a lunch and eat picnic tables outside the museum. Take a drive to the San Bernardino County Museum for a fun educational day trip.
