Seeds
of Wonder Children's Garden in Encinitas is located twenty
miles north of San Diego and is part of the San
Diego Botanical Garden. Seeds of Wonder includes a grassy
"rolling hill," a Baby Dinosaur Forest, a Farmyard
area, and the "Secret Garden," as well as interactive
things to do. One of the highlights
of the garden is the miniature railroad which has a working
Thomas the Tank Engine train set.
Hamilton Children's Garden also at San
Diego Botanical Garden has a fantastic
place for kids to explore, Toni’s Tree House. The
tree house has a man-made trunk with woven in with living
trees. Kids can climb over from roots, through tunnels,
walkways, and ladders. Hamilton Children's Garden is designed
so both parents and children can enjoy activities together.
Field trips for schools and groups are available at the
gardens.
San Diego Botanic Garden, is a 35-acre paradise of garden
trails featuring flowering trees, plants from all climates
around the world desert to tropical, and the world’s
largest collection of bamboo. San Diego Botanic Garden originally
began as the private estate of Charles and Ruth Larabee,
and was known as the Quail Botanical Gardens. |
