Senior-Friendly Southern California Day Trips. When traveling with seniors some things to consider are walking distance, places to sit down,restrooms and restaurants. A trip out is an adventure and escape from daily routine .Listed below are some great day trips with seniors in mind. These trips offer a little slower pace and have plenty of places to sit and relax while taking in the scenery. Other senior day trip options are bus tours or a train journey aboard Amtrak, no driving is necessary just relax and enjoy the trip.


Mission San Juan Capistrano - Tour buses visit the Mission daily. Here you will find a beautiful garden, the ruins of The Great Stone church. Nearby restaurants and stores make this a great day trip for seniors.

Descanso Gardens - A lush landscape, with soothing sounds of water and songs of birds. Tram tours are available and there is a gift shop and a Cafe with outdoor seating. Wonderful relaxing place to visit.
LA Farmers Market - The original 1934 Los Angeles Farmers Market. Restaurants, specialty shops, gifts and more. This place will bring back memories for anyone that has lived in Los Angeles for a long time.
Tom's Farm - Produce stand in the Temescal Canyon near Lake Elsinore has grown over the years to include several restraints and stores. Sit back and enjoy lunch in the courtyard.
