Southern California Tet Festival Year of the Rooster
Southern California Tet Festival is a family-friendly event. Taste some unique Vietnamese food, listen to music and enjoy the new year with family and friends.
UVSA Tet Festival in Costa Mesa hosts the very popular Miss Vietnam of Southern California contest. Has a solid line up of vendors and performers. Tickets are $6.00 Parking $8.00. Distance from Little Saigon could be a problem, however, this event draws visitors from all over Southern California.
The Southern California Tet Festival continues to draw new visitors from outside of the Vietnamese community. Each year the festival draws 100,000 plus visitors. Each year the Tet Festival gets bigger and better so be sure to add the festival to your to-do list.
Southern California Tet Festival Attractions
Along with Vietnamese food and exhibits, the most anticipated event at the Tet Festival is the Miss Vietnam of Southern California pageant. This event is open to residents of Southern California with some Vietnamese descent who are enrolled in high school or college.
There is also a Children’s pageant for kids ages of 4 to 11. Participants wear traditional Vietnamese Traditional clothing and compete for prizes.
Several contests run throughout the three-day event including best floral arrangement, best photo and video of the Tet Festival and a very popular Pho Eating Contest.
The highlight of the festival is the Miss Vietnam of Southern California. The contest is for ages 17-26, live in Southern California and must be of some Vietnamese descent.
