Newport Landing offers California
whale watching trips multiple times daily year round
departing from Newport Beach California. The winter
and spring months bring the annual gray whale migration
with thousands of whales traveling along our coastline
and the summer and fall months brings the giant blue
whales. Several other species of whales, over half
dozen dolphin species, and sea lions are also viewed
year round.
Whale watching is a fun activity for the whole family.
Your kids will love going for a boat ride out on the
ocean. There is something to see for everyone.
Mom and day can view million dollar estates along
the Newport Coast and kids will have a blast watching
playful dolphins chasing the whale watching boast.
And of course there is the thrill of sighting your
first whale. Whale watching trips last about two and
a half hours.
Approximately 20,000 gray whales pass San Diego on
their 10,000-mile round-trip journey from Bering Sea
feeding grounds to Baja’s lagoons. Gray Whale
watching season runs from the end of December through
mid April. Whale watching boats operate year round
from Newport Beach.
