The Annual Banana Festival, Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m at the Port of Hueneme. If you’re looking for a free, fun and family friendly event the Banana Festival is it.
There is something for everyone at this festival, while also enjoying one of the Port’s most important imports – Bananas! Event highlights include live entertainment, waterside port tours, vendor marketplace, arts & crafts, auto pavilion, music & dance, an active kids area, recipe contests, plus banana desserts galore.
Port of Hueneme Tours
Port tours will be available for festival attendees wishing to view any operations taking place that day. This is a rare opportunity to see the Port from the sea as the Sunfish boat takes you on a tour in and around the Port and the Naval Base.
Kids Zone: Tons of fun awaits the youth as they explore heavy equipment. Enter a banana cargo container to explore the vastness of the space for importing and exporting products worldwide.
Banana Festival Food
Enjoy offerings by local restaurants which will include a special banana treat at each vendor as they get creative to win “top banana” recognition with their custom delicacies.
Banana Pie Eating Contest. Prove you are the fastest banana-cream pie eater around. Check with the info booth at the festival for signup information.
